Studio Photography & Lighting Introduction Workshop

Our Studio photography & lighting introduction workshop is ideal for anyone wanting to learn how to take photos in a studio environment. This is a full day workshop that will take place at our studio near Matlock, Derbyshire.

What you will learn

  • Different types of lighting available
  • Setting up on a budget
  • How flash works
  • Single light setups
  • How to use a flash meter
  • Inverse square law and how to use it to your advantage
  • Using Light modifiers
  • How to use reflectors
  • Adding a second light
  • Creating different effects with one background

The workshop is available for anyone at any skill level although a basic understanding of photography will be advantageous. You will require either a DSLR or Mirrorless camera to take part in this course. Please note older Minolta/Sony cameras will require a hot shoe adaptor if you are unsure please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Packed lunch (we have facilities on site to purchase food as well)
Suitable lens 50mm to 200mm please ask if you are unsure

Please note pictures taken on the day are for personal use only if you would like to use any for promotional uses then we will require you to obtain a model release form, there will be a charge of £20 per release for this.

Persons under the age of 16 are welcome to attend events but, to conform with UK law, must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
